Philosophy Behind the Olympus
In keeping with the Hephaestus Audio design philosophy (please see here and here), the Olympus is meticulously executed and all audible parameters are designed to be as smooth as possible. For example, components are placed to minimize interference, internal wiring is kept to an absolute minimum, and no connectors are used inside the amplifier – only solder. Frequency response, noise and distortion are all kept as smooth as possible across all operating ranges – from the threshold of hearing to the threshold of pain. The reason for taking pains to do this is that our brain is wired to be hypersensitive to change, much more so than to absolute value. The nature of our hearing is taken into account with the Olympus in order to give you the most engaging musical experience that your system is capable of.

Advances in semiconductor technology, and in Hephaestus Audio design capability, allow the Olympus to drive 2000 Wrms into 4Ω while maintaining the same size and weight as the other members of the HMA series!
